Many women with ADHD go unrecognized for years, often not discovering they have ADHD until adulthood—sometimes only after a child receives a diagnosis and they begin recognizing similar patterns in themselves.
In women, ADHD frequently shows up in less obvious ways than the stereotypical image of hyperactivity. It may look more like chronic overwhelm, perfectionism, difficulty slowing the mind, self-criticism, or a tendency to prioritize others' needs while struggling to meet their own.

Some misunderstood (and often missed) common experiences of women with ADHD:
Do you care deeply about things, but struggle to follow through in a way others can see?
Does your thinking feel expansive—but hard to contain or direct?
Is your time and energy taken up with coping, staying organized, and holding it together, with no time for fun or relaxation?
